i desperately need this in my life!
well, not really. but yes really.

impractical? definitely. but so incredibly useful nonetheless. so i dibble-dabble in growing herbs in the summer. when it's 25 degrees out? not so much. not only do the herbs die, i do too every time i would have to go out to water/care for them. lo and behold- Prepara's Herb Savor (a hefty $30 via Spoon Sister) basically you stick your herbage into this plastic case. the unpluggable little well at the bottom of the contraption allows you to give your herbage enough water to live, while the 'breathing holes' in the plastic help elongate the life of your basil, parsley, thyme, what have you. it fits perfectly in the fridge (optimal situation, btw) and can help your herbs last up to 6 weeks, supposedly.
surfing around on the Spoon Sister site, i also found these cute beer bands!

they seem stupid, right? that's what i thought until i thought about the boundless potential of these simple little bands! aside from the cute colors and phrases on them, have you ever rented a ski house or beach house with a sizable group of friends? even a get together of 10 or so people? you either end up with 10,000 floaters at the end of each night, or have to buy 3 packages of the 5,000 count red solo cups from costco because you go through them so quickly. these little bands eliminate all of that (ideally, anyways!). you assign a band to each guest, et voila! save money, alcohol and the planet all at once!!
i guess you could save yourself the $8.99 and buy colored rubber bands and write names on them. and they're only as useful as the people who implement them......
